WHO MAY SUE IN THE CITY COURT OF PORT ALLEN? Any individual acting in his own behalf who is 18 years of age or older may sue in the City Court of Port Allen. The person who files the suit is called the "PLANTIFF". A minor may sue only through a parent or guardian. A partnership, corporation or other legal entity may file suit without an attorney for most claims not exceeding two thousand dollars ($2,000). WHO MAY BE SUED IN THE CITY COURT OF PORT ALLEN The person or company being sued may be an individual, a sole proprietor, a partnership, a corporation or an unincorporated association such as a club or association. The person being sued is one "DEFENDANT". In some cases there may be more than one defendant.
